Are We Close to Peak Inflation?

Inflation is now approaching the chronic levels of the 1970s. The PCE Index, which is the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation, has hovered above 6% since June — just below the 6.85% average recorded between 1970 and 1980. Is this a sign that we are close to peak inflation, or are things about to get a lot worse?
